You’ll learn how to plan and conduct debris removal dives, record accurate survey data, and become part of the world’s largest underwater citizen science movement.Every dive you make can help protect marine life and improve the health of our oceans.
Prerequisites
- PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)
- Minimum age: 12 years old
- Be in reasonable physical health for diving – complete the PADI Medical Questionnaire and obtain physician clearance if required
What You'll Learn
In this course, you will:
- Plan and conduct debris removal dives safely and effectively
- Use mesh bags, lift bags, and other tools to remove underwater litter
- Record debris data according to Dive Against Debris survey protocols
- Understand the sources and impacts of marine debris
- Contribute data to the global Dive Against Debris database for scientific research
- Promote ocean conservation through personal and community action
