Want to dive with enhanced comfort, better communication, and a unique underwater experience?The PADI Full Face Mask Diver Specialty Course teaches you how to use a full face mask, which covers your eyes, nose, and mouth, allowing you to breathe naturally through your nose and, in many cases, use underwater communication systems.
Full face masks are popular for cold water diving, professional and public safety diving, and any situation where you want extra protection and comfort.
Prerequisites
- PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)
- Minimum age: 12 years old
- Be in reasonable physical health for diving – complete the PADI Medical Questionnaire and obtain physician clearance if required
What You'll Learn
In this course, you will:
- Select and fit a full face mask for comfort and safety
- Assemble, adjust, and maintain the mask and its components
- Learn how to clear water from the mask and respond to potential issues
- Practice switching to an alternate air source while using a full face mask
- Understand the benefits of integrated underwater communication (if available)
- Plan and conduct dives using a full face mask in different environments
