The IDC builds on your Divemaster knowledge and skills, preparing you to teach PADI courses and inspire new generations of divers.Through classroom sessions, confined water workshops, and open water teaching presentations, you’ll gain the confidence and ability to lead safe, enjoyable, and effective training programs anywhere in the world.
Prerequisites
To enroll in the PADI IDC, you must:
- Be a PADI Divemaster (or hold a leadership-level certification with another training agency)
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have 60 logged dives to start the course and 100 logged dives to attend the Instructor Examination (IE)
- Have been certified as an Open Water Diver for at least 6 months
- Hold EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within the last 24 months (or equivalent CPR/First Aid)
- Have a medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months
