PADI AWARE Shark Conservation Diver – Protect the Ocean’s Apex Predators

Sharks are vital to the health of our oceans, yet millions are killed each year due to overfishing, finning, and habitat loss.The PADI AWARE Shark Conservation Diver Specialty Course teaches you the truth about sharks, the threats they face, and how divers can actively protect them.

Through engaging knowledge sessions and purposeful dives, you’ll learn safe shark diving practices, dispel common myths, and participate in conservation actions that make a difference for these magnificent creatures.

• PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)
• Minimum age: 12 years old
• Be in reasonable physical health for diving – complete the PADI Medical Questionnaire and obtain physician clearance if required

In this course, you will:

• Understand shark biology, behavior, and their critical role in ocean ecosystems
• Identify global and local threats to shark populations
• Learn safe and respectful shark diving practices
• Dispel myths and misconceptions about sharks
• Discover how you can support shark conservation efforts locally and globally
• Participate in shark-focused dives, surveys, or conservation activities (varies by location)

• 2 open water dives with a shark conservation focus
• Participation in data collection, surveys, or conservation initiatives (where available)
• PADI AWARE Shark Conservation Diver certification upon completion
