PADI Underwater Navigator – Never Get Lost Underwater Again

Do you sometimes wonder how dive guides always find their way back to the boat or the perfect reef spot?The PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty Course teaches you how to confidently navigate underwater using a compass and natural references, so you can find your way and make every dive more relaxed and enjoyable.

You’ll practice navigation patterns, estimate distances, and return to your starting point without surfacing – a skill that makes you a more confident and self-reliant diver.

• PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)
• Minimum age: 10 years old
• Be in reasonable physical health for diving – complete the PADI Medical Questionnaire and obtain physician clearance if required

In this course, you will:

• Use an underwater compass to navigate precisely
• Combine compass navigation with natural references
• Estimate distances underwater accurately
• Swim navigation patterns (square, triangle, reciprocal)
• Navigate back to a designated point without surfacing
• Improve your overall dive planning and buddy coordination

• 3 open water dives focused on navigation skills
• Knowledge development on navigation techniques and tools
• Use of underwater compass and other navigation aids
• PADI Underwater Navigator certification upon completion
