PADI Wreck Diver – Explore History Beneath the Waves

Shipwrecks are like underwater time capsules, each with its own unique story.The PADI Wreck Diver Specialty Course teaches you how to safely explore and enjoy wrecks – from historical vessels to artificial reefs – while preserving their integrity for future divers.

You’ll learn wreck diving techniques, navigation skills, and how to plan safe penetration dives where permitted, opening the door to some of the most fascinating and atmospheric dive sites in the world.

• PADI Adventure Diver (must include the Adventure Dive in Wreck Diving) or higher certification
• Minimum age: 15 years old
• Be in reasonable physical health for diving – complete the PADI Medical Questionnaire and obtain physician clearance if required

In this course, you will:

• Plan and organize wreck dives safely
• Navigate wreck sites using reference points and lines
• Avoid common hazards associated with wrecks
• Practice proper buoyancy control to protect both the wreck and yourself
• Learn techniques for limited penetration dives (where allowed)
• Use lights, reels, and other specialized wreck diving equipment

• 4 open water dives focused on wreck exploration and skills
• Knowledge development on wreck research, mapping, and dive planning
• Practice with reels, lights, and penetration procedures
• PADI Wreck Diver certification upon completion
